Bespoke journeys shaped around wildlife, space, and the kind of days that stay with you long after you leave.

You will never forget your first sundowner in Namibia. The excitement of driving through the wild in an open safari vehicle, scanning the horizon for any sign of movement, a warm breeze brushing against your skin, binoculars in hand. Your guide slows the car and points into the bush, and you follow their line of sight, squinting, trying to pick out what they have already seen. As your eyes adjust, you begin to notice something shifting, and a shape slowly forms as an endangered black rhino steps out towards you. You hold your breath as your heart starts to race, quietly reaching for your camera without taking your eyes off it.You carry on after that, still slightly caught up in the moment, as the landscape opens out again and the light begins to change. The air cools, the colours deepen, and the pace of everything softens as the day moves towards evening. As the sun reaches the horizon, your guide pulls over in an open spot and everyone steps out. With a cold drink in your hand, you stand and watch the sky change colour, springbok grazing calmly in the distance as the last of the light settles across the land.On the drive back to the lodge, as darkness begins to fall, you start to feel it settle in. A sense of peace and contentment that comes from being outside, watching wildlife, and letting the day come to an end exactly as it is.
I did not go to Namibia expecting to fall in love. As an animal behaviourist with a life shaped by travel, I arrived curious, but not prepared for how much it would mean to me.It started with wildlife, close enough to hold your attention completely, then the quiet that sits underneath everything, and the sense that life moves at its own pace. The landscapes stayed with me, the rhythm of the days, and the people who make you feel welcome straight away.Sundowner Routes brings together my experience of Namibia, a trained eye for animal behaviour, and a life shaped by travel. I design journeys with a clear sense of where to go, how long to stay, and how each part connects, so the whole trip flows naturally from beginning to end.
